The Stig says nothing!
Time I wrote an article. Well back in March I decided to give the Bug a run to a local car show in Worcester, having seen the show advertised on the interweb. What caught my eye was that it was being organized by Dave Pickering. Funny him being down this way I thought! I will turn up and surprise him. The weather was cool but calm so I persuaded Sue to have a day out and we travelled the short distance of about 25 miles. No Dave Pickering, well there was but not the man I knew.
Actually I would have been more surprized if our Dave had been there. We parked the Bug next to a gazebo which was taped off, perhaps it was there incase it rained it thought. No not long after a sleek red Ferrari with the number plate F3 BOY turned up with the Stig (from Top Gear) driving, accompanied by a body guard. He was there to have his photo taken with punters next to the Ferrari under the gazebo, all money going to charity. Not intrested in him by a Ferrari so I asked if he would mind
standing by my bug. The Stig never talked except to his aid, to which I was told he was not insured to wander about. Wow talk about more than my jobs worth! So let it be. Sue and I went for a stroll looking at all the motors and later by the canal which ran along side the field. On return the Stig had decided he was not getting enough punters so decided to pose next to owners own vehicles. Funny how money talks!! Even if he don't. Grabbed my moment and got him to sit in the Bug for a couple of snaps. Plenty of interest in the Bug as usual, especially from a group of Bikers that specialize in converting bikes for the disabled. The day ended with a dance group doing a Bollywood style dance to entertain the crowd. Good day out and the Bug was now ready for the rest of the Buggin year. Have a Great Christmas see you next year!
