I had to make a stop when I smelt burning rubber, the smell you get when you have no water but the water was ok, turned out to be the rear left mud flap, somehow getting caught by the wheel and ending up on top of the turning tyre. Flipped it back down and a few miles later it did it again, this happened another couple of times before I removed it completely at a service stop. Made it to George and Myra's about 2.30pm (194m), not bad considering I was pulling the Pod and with all the stops. | The bridge crosses the Beauly Firth which happens to lead on to Loch Ness, my port of call on the way back. The further North I went the fewer vehicles on the road there was. I saw deer and a house with a grass roof just like Norway and the coastline was great to drive. Stopped for petrol just once on the way up and the garage owner wanted to show me his fathers special project, up a flight of stairs and under a dust cover there was this immaculate Blue Bubble Car (NWS 350) fully restored. |
