John O'Groats Visit
via The Bugs in Garden Rally

Anyway on I went, the only real town I passed through thereafter was Wick the rest of the journey was countryside. Got to John O'Groats about 5.00pm in the sunshine, drove my bug right up to the Signpost for my photo. A kind cyclist took a couple of pics for me and I took one just of the Bug. No professional photographer, unlike when I visited Lands End in 2007, so my own pics would have to do. Drove the Bug around the corner to a gift shop to get my customary 'been there' fridge magnet. With dark clouds all around I decided a B&B would be a better option than camping. Plenty of light time left so decided to look for a B&B by Loch Ness (110m). The trip back was even better, I had the twisty road all to myself and for a good 30 miles only saw cyclists on my side of the road and saw very few going the other way. Made it to Loch Ness about 8ish and the first B&B I pulled into was shut, luckily the second had one room spare at just £35 I snapped it up. Shower, Tv and choice of 3 beds.
Opposite the Gift shop was a food hut so treated myself to a lovely hot Burger. Whilst waiting for it to cook the heavens opened up with very high winds and hail stones. Kept an eye on the bug to ensure it didn't blow away. The guy in the hut said you had better come in. On his desk was his laptop with pictures of my Bug which he said he was in the process of uploading them to Facebook, how about that the World knew before I had even got chance to tell them back at base camp, modern tech eh!Up bright and early and at the Breakfast table the Bug was the topic of conversation from a couple visiting from Stockholm Sweden. Said our goodbyes and my trip took me the length of Lock Ness, sorry only saw boats no nessy. The trip got better and better the further I went and soon I was driving between snow capped mountains which had many a waterfall. Stopped to take a pic of the snow peaked Ben Nevis which was topped off by very dark clouds.
