Whilst there I saw the same Swedish couple from 45 miles back, I gave them one of Ron's key rings. The route back took me through the Cairngorm mountains, now that drive is what buggin is all about. Back at base camp, the rest had left for home, I stayed an extra night before making my way home too, via Ron's. Monday morning was full of rain so I wheeled the Pod and Bug into Georges garage to pack away in the dry. Said my goodbyes and headed for Cumbria crossing the Forth road Bridge on the way. Trust me it will be well worth the trip, but make sure your Bug has great brakes and can climb steep hills. Stayed the nght in the Pod and left for home at 9.30am. The trip home was through a lot of showers and the only traffic I hit was coming into Birmingham. All in all a fantastic week, many thanks to George & Myra and to Ron & Alison for their great hospitality. The UK has some lovely picturesque places, I have just visited two of our best, Scotland and Cumbria.
Took my time on this trip as I did not want to arrive before Ron or Alison got home from work. Arrived at 5pm and after a lovely meal Ron was well up for a bug run around the Cumbrian mountains. Just done a 200 mile trip, of course I was up for it. I must say I am glad I went, yet again the views were spectacular the drive was hilly (inc 25% gradients) and twisty plus we had the roads virtually to ourselves. It was like having your very own test track. If Ron has a rally up his way you must go.Left to right Ady, me, Dawn, Myra, George, Ron and Dave. The trip saw me do a total of 1367 miles and for the majority of it, I had a great big smile. Now that's buggin.
